The Pittsylvania County Courthouse in Chatham, Virginia, was closely associated with the case Ex parte Virginia. The Younger Papers were a gift of the Estate of Edward E. Younger on 10 September and 17 January William Henry Ruffner was born on Februin the Valley of Virginia where his father was then serving as the president of Washington College in Lexington, (of course that’s the predecessor institution of Washington and Lee University).
